Dinner at Cornelius Seafood Restaurant on Holmen outside Bergen is an experience that combines nature, seafood, and atmosphere at one of Norway's most distinctive dining venues.
Just a 25-minute boat ride from downtown Bergen, the restaurant is located on a small island in the archipelago. Out here, it is the weather and the sea that set the agenda for the kitchen. The menu—our so-called meteorological menus—follows the season and always consists of seafood that is ultra-fresh and adapted to the conditions of the day.

Cornelius Seafood Restaurant offers a seafood experience where the menu is shaped by the weather and the season. The "meteorological menu" reflects the changes in nature, with ingredients sourced from local fishermen, served in a modern boathouse where the view is part of the experience.
The hosts are happy to share the stories behind the ingredients and coastal culture, with a personal and knowledgeable approach. This makes the boat trip, nature, architecture, and food a holistic experience that gives the restaurant its own unique signature.
In summer, guests can sit right down on the quay with the doors open, while autumn and winter offer a cozy atmosphere with a fireplace and candlelight. The restaurant is modern and informal, with a clear focus on quality and origin.

You travel on Cornelius' own guest boat from Bryggen in Bergen. The trip takes about 25 minutes and goes directly to the restaurant on the island of Holmen. During the crossing, you will experience spectacular views of the fjord, mountains, archipelago, and boating life.
Departure and return times vary throughout the year and in the evenings, and you will receive accurate information about this when you book your table.

The boat glides calmly out of Bergen and follows the fjord towards Bjorøy. The trip is short, but provides a pleasant little break before the evening really begins.

Upon arrival, you will encounter the distinctive pier, the modern boathouse, and hosts who welcome you to a warm and atmospheric experience by the water's edge.
The main course is a signature experience – the meteorological menu consists of five dishes adapted to the season, the weather of the day, and the chef's inspiration. The dishes will include both fish and shellfish, as well as a seasonal dessert.

On the return trip to the city, the fjord puts the finishing touches on the evening.
